Tom Gerczynski

Tom Gerczynski Born in Wisconsin, raised in Arizona and Idaho, and returned to Arizona after a spell with the US Navy.

Educational career was at Phoenix College where I attended photography classes from Alan Dutton. Dutton and I started and ran a business, Dutton and Gerczynski Photography Ltd., from the year I graduated Phoenix College in 1972 to 1974 when I started my own business, Gerczynski Photographs.

Business took off and in 1982 I started teaching at Phoenix College as a way to give back to the community that had been so good to me as a commercial photographer. I taught one class for 21 years, Commercial Photography, which I believe was the first time a commercial photography class was offered any where in the state. In 2003 I moved full-time to Prescott where I was hired by Roy Traver to help teach Photoshop and later Digital Photography. Photography excites me as much today as it did when I first started shooting.

I have been privileged to work with some incredible people, whose vision enabled me to create some stunning commercial images. I am still working as a commercial photographer shooting for clients and the corporate jet industry.

I have also been privileged to work with some incredible educators who helped me teach more effectively. It has always been an honor to teach and I have enjoyed sharing what I have learned with those who share my passion.
