(and the Tranformative Basis for Fair Use)

Media—movies, music, television, etc.—provide potentially powerful tools to connect with students possessing a number of different learning styles (visual, aural, etc.). But what about all these copyright laws and restrictions? This workshop is designed to tap into the core of the use of these resources for effective learning and dynamic teaching by transforming and re-contextualizing popular media into “classroom magic,” and staying legal at the same time! A discussion of analysis vs. meta-analysis of media will be part of the discussion.
