Welcome/Introduction:

How to utilize online resources for courses, specifically cartoons. Does Humor really belong in the classroom? Ruth created cartoon of perception of distance and based on the positive response, decided to teach others.
Beth Beecham: Teaches English - need cartoons in ENG 101 for a break in the grammar learning
Jeri Denniston: Teaches Internet Marketing - thought might be good to use cartoons to demo
Lyndsay Henning: Teach Critical Thinking - need some humor in class
Mary Ann Clark: Comparative Religion - wants to become informed and see how she could use it
Ruth Elsessner: Early Childhood - starting to teach online and thinks cartoons can get info across quickly with a sense of humor & thrilled with the idea of the ability to create their own
Ruth Buttler: EMS - we need humor
Brandon Buttler: EMS - able to remember humor or cartoons easier than not, thinks cartoons are a good way to teach information & help retain
Holly Molina: VUB - how to liven up informaiton, messaging & announcements - thinks the color & humor would be a good addition & perhaps inspire the messages
Barb Churchill: Library - want to learn how to create cartoons - especially from the free online environment

Uses of Cartoons:

Could use it to create a characterization of a stereotype that could be a humorous representative.- I don't know how to draw so this would be very helpful.
The way to provide the human touch to information.
To create an avatar that can be videoed instead of my face.

Bitstrips:

Can create multiple characters, cartoon strips, can add multiple items in the background, manipulate the face, body, arms & feet.

ToonDoo:

Simpler than Bitstrips but can be temperamental. Creates hyperlink that you can embed.
